Areas of Practice

We Are Creative & Passionate Fighters

The world of immigration law is constantly changing, shaped by evolving policies, court decisions, and enforcement practices. With each shift comes both opportunity and risk. Navigating this system requires not only legal knowledge, but careful strategy and clear guidance. Slatton & Hass Immigration Advocates takes pride in explaining complex immigration processes in plain language and guiding clients through each step with precision and care.

The firm represents individuals and families in a wide range of immigration matters, including asylum and refugee protection, removal and deportation defense, family-based petitions, adjustment of status, waivers of inadmissibility, humanitarian relief such as VAWA, T visas, and U visas, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, and citizenship and naturalization. The firm also handles federal court litigation related to immigration matters, including habeas petitions and administrative challenges.

In addition to traditional immigration representation, the firm engages in civil and constitutional litigation to hold government agencies accountable when the law has been violated. Slatton & Hass Immigration Advocates does not hesitate to rely on statutory and constitutional protections to challenge unlawful conduct by the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This includes pursuing claims under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) and the Bivens doctrine in appropriate cases involving wrongful detention, abuse of authority, or violations of constitutional rights.

The firm also represents survivors of human trafficking through civil litigation under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA), using federal law to seek justice, accountability, and compensation for those who have been exploited.

Through both immigration advocacy and federal civil rights litigation, Slatton Immigration Advocates is committed to using the full force of the law to protect its clients and to challenge systems that cause harm when legal boundaries are crossed.
